Every hosting package with American Internet support web based mail.  You can access them by going to the following web addresses:

These instructions here are for people who are comfortable setting up e-mail accounts, and for people who are using an e-mail program not detailed here. The example assumes you want to set up access to the mailbox "bob" at "www.somedomain.com". Change the mailbox name and domain name to your mailbox name and domain name.

The settings information appears in two tables, one table for POP3 set-up and one tables for SMTP (outgoing) set-up.

POP3 Server Name:	pop3.yourdomainname.com
POP3 User Name:	bob@yourdomainname.com
POP3 Password:	passphrase
POP3 Port Number:	110 (default)

SMTP Server Name:	smtp.yourdomainname.com
SMTP User Name:	bob@yourdomainname.com
SMTP Password:	passphrase
SMTP Port Number:	25 (default) or 26
SMTP Authentication:	Required or Enabled

Some mail programs give you the option of saying "Use the same information for SMTP as POP3." You may safely use this option, as long as you also indicate that SMTP Authentication is required.

Some mail programs let you specify the type of SMTP authentication you can use. Our Plesk for Linux mail system supports PLAIN, LOGIN, CRAM-MD5, and DIGEST-MD5 methods. Our recommendation are the two MD5 methods; most programs allow you to specify one or other other.
